The Interview
Shir, can you tell us about your experience on campus before and after October 7th?
Especially since I am from Israel, since October 7th I have kept a low profile. I don't go to new places. In America, I was trying to cover where I'm from because I didn't want to enter conversations I shouldn't be in. I didn't feel any negativity towards me personally, but it's not nice to see those protests.
Shir, what's your Jewish story?
My ancestors are traditional/Mizrachi. I grew up in a traditional Israeli home, where we did the holidays, but not the spiritual things.
How did you hear about The Podcast Fellowship?
I was walking in New York, I saw the sign for TPF, I scanned the QR code and joined.
What was your reaction to the stipend offer?
I was shocked that you actually pay for that. I listen to podcasts often, but this is a whole new world of Torah and Judaism which is so accessible. I loved it.
Tell us about your experience with TPF:
I love my mentor, Mariel Goldstein (of Meor Maryland). She's so nice and very open. We speak about the podcasts, but also about life. She's an amazing, amazing woman.
Who is your favorite podcast speaker and/or topic?
The are so many! But my favorite is Charlie Harary when he speaks about personal growth. I love the way he speaks so on point.
I remember listening to one podcast about Emunah. I really connected to it because I didn't know anything about it before. It was interesting and enlightening, and something I wish I had learned before.
How has TPF helped you grow as a Jew?
Honestly, right now I'm on a very spiritual, meaningful journey. I'm learning Torah, and it started with The Podcast Fellowship. There are so many things I didn't know. TPF opened a whole new world. I got connected with amazing people, and I decided that I should learn more.
Wow. Keep it up! Shir, can you sum up your experience with The Podcast Fellowship in one quote?
"It's amazing that this knowledge is available and accessible. It should get to many more people."
